1. The safety sensors (most likely)
If the door starts down and reverses, or will not start at all while the Garage Door Opener light blinks, check the two sensors near the floor. Both LEDs should be solid. A blinking LED means they are not seeing each other — realign until steady.
2. Something in the beam
A bin, a bike wheel, a coiled hose, even a large cobweb across a lens. Look along the beam path, not just at the sensors.
3. Dirty lenses
Florida garages get dusty. Wipe both lenses with a soft dry cloth.
4. The close-force setting
If the door closes most of the way then reverses with the sensors solid, the down-force limit is set too sensitively, or something is binding in the last stretch of travel.
5. Track obstruction or a bent track
Look along both vertical tracks for dents. A door that binds at the same point every time is mechanical, not electronic.
